So I'm 'doing' the Diana concert on Sunday!
It's crazy to think that I was playing to 4 people just over a year ago and now I'm involved in an amazing event filled with legendary artists who have inspired me along the way... Rod Stewart, Elton John and contemporary stars like Pharrell and Kanye West, all at the top of their game...
I think that anything which makes people more aware of the kinds of charities Diana supported; those working to help orphans of aids-ravaged families, and closer to home things like the Centrepoint charity, helping homeless youngsters in London, has got to be a good thing and I'm delighted to be involved.
I really can't wait to get out there and perform and to see some of the others play. I'm kind of overwhelmed by it, but I'll try and take it in my stride and not be too nervous.
I'd really love to be able to see the whole show, but it's come on a day when I'm doing one of my own summer forest tour shows up in Gloucestershire... So basically I've got to get all G.I. Joe and go from Wembley in a helicopter up to my own gig. Cool, but pretty full on!
The forest shows have been going amazingly well so far, so thanks to anyone who has been or is coming. There's an amazing atmosphere, just like a mini-festival... mud an all!
On Wednesday I played to over 7000 people in Amsterdam and that was also incredible, you may have seen some of the photos up here already.
Right now I'm on my way to Sherwood Pines near Nottingham to do the gig. Hopefully I'll see Maid Marion roaming around Sherwood Forest and I'll do my best Robin Hood impersonation...
Love & Peace
